They banned plastic bags in my town sometime last year. And we’ve all adapted nicely, thank you. I have a sizable nest of reusable grocery bags living in the trunk of my car. Some are recycled plastic. Others are cloth. But today at Trader Joe’s, I spied this:
It cost more than the plastic reusable bags they sell, but I bought it anyway because it was so cute. “People say they’re using it like a purse,” said the guy at reg.
Cute, functional, and a HELLUVA lot less expensive than Kate Spade. Plus it has this poem printed on the side:
All the breath and the bloom of the year in the bag of one bee.
Wow. Is that, like from something? Should I know the reference? Did they just make it up?
I don’t actually care. I love charming non sequiturs as much as the next gal. So yeah, I’m thinking this is my cool new bag. BUT, I already have a cute farmer’s market bag…
Yeah. That’s right. From the awesome Borough Market, in London, where I went on a trip last Christmas with the fam to visit the in-laws. It’s a pretty damn handy bag. I’ve made well good use of it this year.
But I dunno. I sort of like the feel of this new TJ’s bag. It’s more constructed. Smaller, yet roomy and functional. What do you all think?
I know. There’s room in my life for more than one bag. But I’m also a creature of habit. What say ye? Trader Joe’s or Borough Market?
